So, this is one of the pansies I made last week and then used on cupcakes for my family :-)

Any comments welcomed!

Wired flowers

Today I've made my very first wired flower using petal paste. It's a carnation and I plan to make some more and some wired leaves too. Then I'm going to try my hand at wiring them all together to make a spray :-)

I did take some photo of the flowers I made last week and had every intention of uploading them. THEN, I got a new phone. I haven't yet set up all the functions on my new phone including facebook and blogger so I have no way of sharing my photos until I do this!

Soon. I promise!! :-)

Flowers

Well, despite the weather being incredibly changeable, I have spring and summer on my mind. This can only mean FLOWERS!!!!  I can do the stamped flowers in my sleep (as can anyone) and I'm happy with my hand made fondant roses now.

Sooooo, I'm on the lookout for some more hand made edible flowers to add to my repertoire. I'm hoping to avoid spending money on new equipment for a couple of weeks as I've spent far too much lately. I've found a couple that are looking like they won't send my stress levels through the roof and I'm planning to give them a whirl tomorrow.

Photos will follow IF they look vaguely like they are supposed to ;-)

Cake

Hi and welcome to the very first blog by The Tattooed Cake Company :-)  My name is Janet and I'm a small home-based cake business at the edge of the Peak District in Derbyshire. I've been cooking and baking most of my life and I've recently decided to quit the rat race and make cakes for a living instead.

My aim is to produce beautiful cakes using quality ingredients. I have taken several cake decorating classes already, but there are still many more techniques for me to learn and I will share these with you as I experiment and create new designs.

I'm happy to share general information so if there is anything you want to ask then please feel free. However, please don't be offended if you ask for something I can't share. This may be because it is a family recipe or a design that I have had to pay for the right to use, for example. But I will always try to point you in the right direction.
